First of all, do not try so hard for him to notice you... Remember, be yourself... Try being his friend(relationships are built on friendship), strike a conversation... Show him what you really are... Do not pretend to be someone else... Captivate him with what you've got & what's really inside you... If these efforts do not seem to work, I advise you to STOP... Focus your attention to someone worthwhile and thinks you exist...

Maybe you are shy and he is outgoing, or the other way around?
If two people are opposite in their personalities, it is very difficult to connect.
I think just saying hello and being friendly is a good start.
If there is response then continue, saying hello and now and then ask him what's up?
If there is no response to your greetings, then you had better write him off.
Anyone who has no manners and can't be friendly and respond to a hello, isn't worth getting to know.
Sometimes if there is an age difference they ignore you and pretend you don't exist.
It would be interesting to have a few more details, as I am answering on presumptions.

I've got a great idea, focus your attention on someone who actually likes you. These things only work out in movies. If you pursue a guy that doesn't even notice you, you are only wasting your time.

Bake cookies or buy them and hand them out to the whole class yourself and when you give him his cooky say here you go in a very nice voice. Then start saying hi in a casual way to him every day. Hope that goes well!! : )
