A blood clot in the leg can have serious consequences if the clot breaks free. I would urge you to read the link below and then see a doctor.

I wouldn't take any chances if you really feel it could be more than some swelling. At least call the doctor.
My dh had surgery 2 weeks ago, his veins in the arm he had the IV in has been really hard, sticking out more and he also thinks there is a clot in one.
He had a post-op yesterday, the Dr. thinks it is not a clot. She told him to put a hot compress on it, like a wet towel that has been warmed in the microwave. Then an ACE bandage. The pressure of that and the hot compress should relieve the swelling.
Good luck, remember to call the Doctor.

YES. Blood clots are very serious. Remember Brian Bloom from the Today show? He died a few years back after riding in a jeep with his legs in one position for hours at a time, from which he developed a blood clot. Please see a physician as soon as you can. There is medication treatment. There is also laser treatment. You really don't know for sure if it's gone, OR if it has simply slipped below a palpable and/or visual level. Take of this. Don't ever have regrets regarding saving a life.

a blood clot that breaks free can travel anywhere and become lodged in some other area ... why take a chance on what damage will be done ... if he had a brain aneursym he should be under routine care and meds ... at least thats what I would suspect ... my husband and an abdominal anuerysm and he's on meds and sees a dr every 6 mos .

you need to go ... the brain has smaller veins thats why clots get caught in there

You should both see a doctor. Him for the symptoms. Both of you for ignoring them. You're asking this question on "Yahoo Answers"........ you should be deeply embarrassed. He had a brain aneurysm 10 years ago!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He's susceptible to clots!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Both of you are in deep denial. This type of denial can kill!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
