i have letters that don't show up and have to hit the key 2 or 3 times to get the letter/space bar to work. I've scaned for spyware and virus's and found nothing. what could it be?

right click on my computer, click properties, take device manager,
take properties of key board re install the driver.
If it didn't work check out key board properties in control panel

Have you tried to use the keyboards on another computer to rule out hardware failure? I know this may not always be a possibility for those that only have 1 computer available to them. But if you do have access to another computer, ensure that the problematic keyboards wotk on the other computer. If they do then you can rule out the keyboards as being the problem.
Next question would be, what kind of keyboards are they? That is, are they USB or PS2?
Are the keys that you are having to hit 2 or 3 times always the same keys on the keyboard or is it random?
It is possible that a trojan got installed that is trapping keyboard output (though it would be a poorly designed one if it is not releasing that output after it has been trapped). It is also possible that it could be a hardware issue. With the limited information, it may be difficult to answer this question.

You should have an option to set the keyboard sensitivity and how long you holda key downto make it repeat the letter. Find that and see what it is set at.

If your computer is not working properly while you are working on it, it could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software.
