James version correctly says, "This is Elijah who WAS to come!"
The Book also says in Revelation that John will have to
prophesy AGAIN before nations and kings!

No, I don't believe in reincarnation, & the reason they ask John The baptise, That question, is because he fulfilled Malachi 4:5-6, The first part of that scripture, & people thought that God had send Elijah back to earth, Remember Elijah never die, he was taken up into heaven & also Enoch, So it was the God annointing upon John that they looked at & Thought Elijah came back not in reincarnation but direct from heaven, The 2nd part of Malachi of that coming Elijah, Which is only the annointing only came upon a man in this last Church age, His name was William Branham & it is to come one more time & that will be the annointing & not the actual person, That annointing will come to Israel & also the annointing of moses. Reincarnation is a very interesting topic, several cultures and religions profess it. In eastern Nigeria (Africa), where come from, traditional beliefs hold that we are all reincarnated.

BUT... Reincarnation is contrary to the word of God. It is appointed for all men to die once and after that... comes Judgement.

About Elijah, It was not the man Elijah that reincarnated, It was the annointing (or power expressed) which he carried that was also seen in the ministry of John the Baptist. They were two different people who functioned under a similar Spiritual Unction.

not any that i am aware of, that scripture is centered around the Jewish idea of reincarnation and certainly we know that usually the Bible also says "in the spirit of" that means everything important about Elijah like what he did and what he was, that was fulfilled in John, but the person of Elijah did not come back into John. Elijah was the second person in the Bible to have never died, he was carried away into Heaven alive. So if he never died, he can't come back into another body. Also we believe the scripture that says "it is appointed unto man once to die, then after this the judgment". You receive judgment after you die. Just because Enoch and Elijah never died simply means it was never appointed to them for reasons known to God why they never. But Enoch was translated because we know he was righteous and walked with God.

When i was a Chriatian, I took the bible for what it says and not what most Christians say it says and this got me in trouble a lot.

According to the bible john was the reincarnation of elija, but he appearently did not know it. Because he did not know he was, this is why Christians say he was not and that it is just with the authority and power and purpose of Elija that John came, but that is an direct contradition of what Jesus said. Jesus said plainly that john was Elija.

The people who asked that question a) were not Christians, but Jews, and b) did not display a belief in reincarnation; they were only wondering about it.

No, belief in reincarnation is contrary to Christianity. The Letter to the Hebrews, in the New Testament, is clear that we live on this earth only once.
