The more elasticity your hair has...the healthier.

Take a loose strand of hair and pull on it...if it breaks, it's not as healty. If your hair has good elasticity...it should not break with a little tug.

A good conditioner can improve elasticity. Aveda has good products.

the answers so far are funny.

pull one hair from the root. place it in a glass (not cup) of water (warm). the longer it stays on top of the water the healthier and stronger it is. the faster it falls to the bottom of the glass the weaker it is.

porosity is the ability to absorb moisture (water).
the more porous it is the faster it falls thru the water.
the healthier it is the longer it stays on top of the water (water doesn't penetrate it easily).
