ok my hair is a medium brown with black highlights, ok, but i went to the website that is on my box && it showed that i would come out with like red hair, and i dont want red hair. well i was wondering if i leave it on longer than what the box say, if it will turn out blonde, because it is supposed to be a medium blonde, the box says 25 minutes but that would make it red, if i want it like a medium blonde, then how long should i keep it on?????

All box color stops working after the set time. Haircolor is composed of oxidative dye molecules, meaning once it is mixed, and oxygen hits... it only has so long, to open the outer layer of your hair, it expands, and retracts. meaning.... it won't expand again, and you will not get lighter. Basically.. it will do nothing if you leave it on longer. This is to prevent people from frying their hair. This is unless you are using bleach, which works a total of 45-50 minutes per mixed batch. I don't imagine this is the case though being it is in a box. Did you buy a box formulated for your hair type??? colors only have so many levels of lift, and if you hair is previously dyed darker than you now want it... the rule is... color does not lift color. Only bleach and then toning will give you desired lighter effects on previously colored hair. If you want to be overall lighter, you are then looking at color correction at a salon..... This is the process of chemically removing color, filling the hair shaft, and depositing desired color. Due to box color, I do sooooo many of these a week........ Hope this helps

You MUST leave any colour for the time specified in the instructions. All tints are made to develop within a certain period of time. Removing it too soon will leave undeveloped colour, often resulting in orange. The blue (which counteracts the orange) is the last to develop, and you need to leave it for the full time to make sure you truly do get the ash blonde you wanted. You cannot get "some" colour by leaving it a shorter time, or get it "deeper" by leaving it longer. That is not how hair colour works...as you already know from your classes. Removing it too soon results in incomplete colour development, and leaving it on longer does nothing at all. The entire colouring process only works for a certain amount of time, and usually in about an hour, it is all finished, and nothing is happening anymore. You know, of course, that dye is only used on fabric, not hair??

You shouldn't use this box dye at all. My suggestion is to go to a professional stylist. Yes, it's more expensive than the few dollars that you paid for that box, but it will be well worth it. Your hair needs to be bleached and then colored to get the desired color. And you also want to use a treatment so your hair doesn't get damaged from all of the stress. Take your time and make sure this is done right.

if you have blonde hair it will naturally get bleached by the sun in the summer. There had been this guy in my class who else had golden blonde hair that was a medium brown near the base. When he came back to university after summer vacation, it was practically platinum blonde!

Jet black hair. I have actually dark brown hair and I consider dark hair looks better. I may really like blonde hair.

If you leave it on longer than it says to, your hair will go dry and crispy and not very nice
