anybody know how to get into macadamia nuts without destroying the nut?

There is a special utensil you can buy at your local kitchen ware store especially designed for opening macadamia and similar nuts, its called a Cadalapa. I bought mine for $11.95

Buy ready shelled - its the only foolproof way to get intact nuts. The utensils really aren't that great.

If you strike one with a hammer and enough force, it will crack the shell, leaving the nut unharmed.
