I am 16, and my parents do not let me have a b/f is this fair for my age? They say that i should concentrate on my studies and that a b/f would only distract me.

Hi you have the rest of your life to have a boyfriend enjoy being 16. I wasn't allowed to much at all when I was 16 and I thought it was terrible now I look back at it and I'm great full to my parents for looking out for me. Just have fun don't worry about boys there nothing but trouble LOL which you will find out for yourself soon enough

yeah, you should concentrate on your studies and just have fun being a kid. Because it is Guaranteed that a relationship at your age WILL fail..... Wait it out. besides good grades will get you into a good college.... where do you want to work when you're older?? Burger king?? or somwhere where you will make a lot of money??

No it's not really fair ..... but yes they are right ...
It's a cruel world when you're 16 ... but love is love ... and you either have a boyfriend or you don't ... parents really have little to say in the matter ...
When the right boy comes along ... you'll know ... then you'll have to juggle the boyfriend and your parents
Good Luck :)

it may not be fair (I don't think it is!), but it may also be true LOL sometimes, having a boyfriend or girlfriend causes grades to go down, because more effort is put into being with the boyfriend than into the studies. Talk to them about it, and see what you can work out. good luck!

They don't want you to get pregnant at such a young age, like most 16 year olds are doing these days.

If they don't think you are mature enough then you should just respect there decisions. I wont be allowed to date til i am 18. There honestly just doing what they think is best for you so dont sweat it there will be plenty of time to date.

although i disagree i think at some point over teen years you need to be able to make more and more adult choices if your arnt i personally believe it will take you longer in life to under stand life i would say why not give it a chance if you start to fail then hey thats it pull the plug however i hate to say it but rules are rules just like laws they all suck like marijuana law but hey we gotta follow them maybe ya can bite the bullet couple years turn 18 move out on yer birthday and date all the time fight fire with fire.

Listen to your parents. They are very wise. Don't end up like me, 42 years old and kicking myself for not listening to my parents.
