why are they made to run around dressed in rags?

Huh? I don't know about the time that YOU were a Muslim once (I know you never were; don't even think about fooling me or anyone else here!), but I am an educated, confident, committed Muslim, and I have some of the most beautiful, most stylish clothes you'll ever find a female having. MashaAllah. Alhamdulillah. All praises are due to the Mighty God!! Oh, and, again, get your facts right. I'm a Muslim, and I don't wear anything that drags behind me, sweetie. I wear a scarf that covers my hair, chest, and neck. My arms are covered with my sleeves, my legs are covered with my pants, and my shirts are a little long enough so that my behind doesn't show.... cause MEN WILL LOOK AT MY BEHIND with lust, and don't you even TRY to deny that!!!!
A Muslim woman can wear ANYTHING she wants. If the CULTURE doesn't allow her, don't you even think about blaming Islam for it. Some men may not allow their women to dress stylishly, but that doesn't mean they're following Islam, and men are NOT allowed to take women's rights away from them.
We are told to cover our hair, neck, chest, legs, and arms... and not to reveal any body-outlines (hope you know what I mean); revealing your body-outlines can mean tight clothings, which attract men A LOT and may lead to rape/molestation.
Oh, and cultures differ in dressing style. I'm from Pakistan; ever seen a Pakistani dress? The shirt is kinda long and called "kameez", and the pant is "shalwaar". Then the Arab culture has different styles of dressing as does some African cultures and others. Perhaps what you see some Muslim women wearing is merely due to traditional styles of clothing and has nothing to do with our beautiful Islam.

Muslim women folk are westerners too. i'm a westerner and a Muslim and the only time I remark on non Muslim clothing is whilst my Islamic clothing it attacked. So in the event that they cant take it they should not be dishing it out. different than that i might desire to care much less what they positioned on, its their enterprise and takes up 0 of my day... donning a Hijab would not equivalent, piety. I even have in no way are available the time of Muslim women folk with that attitude myself. I've seen Muslim ladies wearing very elegant styles, perfectly modest and respectful. I'm not a Muslim, but I have great respect for the way Muslim ladies choose to dress.

O they are but only for theit husbands I saw a program on islam in egypt where they said muslim women did not always wear clothes under their coats that was for out side at home they would be very sexy. I thought in your dreams .

we can wear a stylish clothes within limits and the limits are to cover our hair and body and the clothes not be tight , i wear hijab and wear nice colours, it is not nessarly to be black and ugly dress it is a question of indivisal taste , if u saw maria , jesus moms pictures u will see hair in a very decent look and dress , she is one of the muslim females example , and thats how muslim women should be like. .

Muslim's ladies must wear like the sister in the church(hijab),this is one of the Islam rules.anyone told other reason,don't believe him,the same answer you will get from religious Muslim's man,but the color is not ristricted to white and black

I do want to see nuns in fishnets.
But I have seen Muslim women in some seriously hot clothes. You've just gotta know the right ones.

I am a chinese convert to Islam 8 years ago and started wearing headscraf just a year ago... know what my friends and colleagues which are non muslim feel that i dressed better now..
it is really up to you to choose what you want to wear, as long as you have yourself properly covered... doesn;t mean that tight fitting and exposing yourself is consider stylish.

in some countries its cultural thing to wear like this where as many ladies in india, pakistan, egypt, turkey and other parts wear modern dresses

actually some of their cloths are very attractive. I think they look quite neat too. Why can't Christian nuns wear cute little black dresses, fishnets and high heels?
