Because hatred is easier to spread than love.
It takes time and effort to develop charity, as St Paul described it.
Charity is an Anglicized version of the Latin root word cara meaning caring. the basis of any type of love there is.
Hate is easy to spread, all people have to do is lie, or make snotty remarks about whoever they want others to hate. The natural and easiest way to respond to that is to return the same, tit-for-tat, eye for an eye and tooth for a tooth.
The eye for an eye deal is a law in Leviticus which limits the amount of revenge one can take to only the amount of damage suffered in the first place. The standard practice at the time was, if somebody blackened your eye or knocked out your tooth, you would get all your crew together, ride out to the village where the eye-blackener or tooth-knocker-outer lived, kill him and his entire family, except for the ones you took as slaves, and burn the village to the ground.
I am using the Judeo-Christian examples because I am Christian and they are the most familiar, and I hope it helps.
The laws of moses have a lot of commandments to kill, OR SO IT SEEMS.
People tend to let the hate guide them when they read them, but right at the beginning there is a commandment to keep all of the laws, and if you don't keep all of the laws, you can't judge anybody else end of sentence period. That is the trap of Leviticus. The stumbling block laid in Zion. That breaks all that is fallen on it.
Because Leviticus shows a perfection that is acknowleged right from the beginning to be unattainable.
The only solution to the riddle of the Law is a policy of Universal Forgiveness.
The mirror image of that is Universal Condemnation.
It would be up to God to condemn, and there jes' ain't nobody on this sorry old Big Blue Planet qualified to second guess him on that.
And when, according to my faith, God Himself came down, for 33 years, walking amongst us, talking to us, telling us exactly these same things, He never once condemned anybody to death, but He did have quite a few pointed insulting remarks for people who did.
The people He had around Him, and this was pointed out to Him many times, were the sinners who would have gotten the most condemnation from the Law.
There is a proverb I learned years ago, and you have to look at your hand while you do it, When you point that one finger at somebody else, you have your other fingers pointing back at YOU.
Not bad eh?
And now, for the simple act of spreading a little of the Love of God, I get to almost break my own arm patting myself on the back.
There are some Immediate rewards to spreading love.

WOW! Good Answers y'all and good question too. I posed one tonight to
"thought provoke" the evolution thing [because of youth and the school controversy] and could literally feel the venom and hatred in some of the replies that quickly came back. Satan, indeed, sent angry responses 3 to 1
within brief moments of the posting.
PEACE ON EARTH GOOD WILL TOWARD MEN
Thanks for reminding me everyone!

Actually, religions have caused more pain, suffering, and death than any other system in history; think of the Inquisition, for example!

Dogma-that is a barrier that sets religionists apart from others and it breeds intolerance not peace and love.

Satan is not only the author of confusion, but of hate. Where people join together to praise the Lord, you can be sure that satan is there to mess things up.

I Come To Send Fire
"I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I, if it be already kindled?" (Luke 12:49)
"Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division: For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three. The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law." (Luke 12:51-53)
