I have heard that it doesn't make much odds. Also I've never smoked and try to stay out of the sun but have taken a load of drink and drugs in my youth, will this have cancelled out all my hard work?!

I think the fact that you've moisturized could help...maybe not a great deal but it could help. I think the biggest factor is that you've stayed out of the sun! This greatly helps! As far as the drugs and alcohol in your "youth" it's not that big of a deal I don't think. I mean you're only 27, and as long as you have stopped doing them, I think you'll be fine. Keep in mind, not getting enough sleep and what you eat also influence your skin. So you have plenty of chances to make up for past damage! Best of luck!!! = )

I think it will make a difference. Try a moisturiser with sun protection factor, which will help even more. Although drink and drugs might have some effects on the skin, smoking is a million times worse.

Well the drink is terrible for your skin. As far as moisturiser goes, you have just made your skin addicted to it. If you drink recommended amount of water everyday, you don't need moisturiser. But really what difference does it make if you look good on the outside if your much needed organs on the inside are damaged or scarred from to much drink and drugs.

Well done on the moisturiser. It will pay off. With regards to the drink and drugs - not so good. Drink dries the skin and drugs do all sorts but if you no longer take the drugs then you will be fine

I think it will definitely have made a difference. Especially if you live in a city (lots of pollution to counteract) or spend a lot of time outside (all that wind and rain etc).

I think smoking is the biggest problem with skin, followed by sun exposure so these are the things to stay clear of.

You haven't canceled out your work-----just continue to stay out of the sun and don't smoke. But the drinking and drugs couldn't have helped a lot.

Yes, but it is important to keep going now as your skin is losing its elasticity.
Genetics and clean living will play a big part in how your skin ages (how is your mothers skin?) but there is nothing worse for your skin than sun and smoking, it can add decades to your appearance.
Another good tip is to never sleep in make up, for every night you sleep in your slap you add a week to the age of your skin.

Yes definitely it will make difference on long run.Dont thin that your hard work is wasted because moisturizing will decrease the effects of age to appear on your face.Especially it'll create difference in your old age.So dont worry about it and keep moisturizing your face regularly. After all beauty is all about healthy skin.

The drinking and drugs may not have helped, but I think that if you hadn't moisterised as well, your skin could have ended up much drier
