If those are your choices, I'd get the HP. At least it has an optical viewfinder. Large LCD viewfinders eat batteries. It seems nice to have a big LCD monitor, but they are power hungry. You will have to do what you can to turn the thing off as soon as you don't need it any longer. Look for "Power Save" in your menu. Set it to shut off at the shortest possible innterval after you take the picture. Set it so that it doesn't not display unless you tap the shutter button to wake it up. Even this will not go a long way towards conserving batteries.

one factor to think approximately is that Canon makes use of what i could call a classic reminiscence card, SD. SD enjoying cards are great inexpensive. A 2 gig card is probably $5 and could carry hundreds of imagery of the utmost high quality determination. Sony makes use of their very very own proprietary type which costs extra and infrequently works in something yet yet another Sony product. Olympus makes use of xD which whilst extra no longer expensive than Sony stuff remains no longer interior the mainstream.

You can get a new digital camera from http://linkachi.com/?r1 and all you have to do is enter in your zip code to see if they mail it to your area. My uncle got his camera from that site and it arrived at his house a few weeks later. You can choose between three different cameras and they are all free of charge. Dont buy any of those get a digital camera from that site.
