Whatever you do don't take depression pills. That's the easy way out. too many people take pills and then don't know how to live without the pills. The Answer???? Time. and that doesn't always work either . depending on your specific situation. to things that will distract you from your depression or something that will help you learn and grow from that depression. I started reading. A LOT . and it seemed that every new book I picked up had something to do with what I was going through and helped me through my depression. Whatever you do . STAY AWAY FROM PILLS. you'll just makeyourself worse.

It's a very natural physical reaction, if you ask me. Try to keep busy, do lots of writing if that helps you get your feelings out, make a list of things you like about yourself, and think about some things you want to accomplish this year. Start being focused on the future and on the little actions you can take today to work toward your personal goals. Talk with friends and family, or on a chatboard with people going through a similar situation. Try to sleep enough and to eat right. Get some exercise. Most importantly, know that it is temporary and if it drags on for weeks, then see a doctor about antidepressants or other therapy.

Well depends about what exactly is depressing you.
You need to find the specific thing. Then prove to yourself why breaking up was good for you. Which I'll tell you now it probably was even though you can't understand it yet.
Just think about it, sort it all out, and once you do that time will heal the rest.
If you dont' do anything and expect the answer to magically apear in time your never going to get better.
Good luck!
Oh and watch some funny cartoons, smile, there is always something to smile about.

I assume you recently broke up. It takes time to move on and get your life back together. The main thing you need to do is get out of the house! Take a walk, join a club, go to a coffee shop, call up a friend you stopped seeing because this relationship made it hard to find time for friends. Just don't be alone. There is healing power in time spent with people.

It is okay to be sad for a while after a break up. It is perfectly normal to mourn the end of a relationship. After awhile you will look up and say enough of this S*** and jump back into your life.

If you are depressed while you are in a relationship, you should discuss with your partner what is bringing you down and talk about ways to improve the situation.

EVERYONE experiences this. You will get over it with time. However, if it's so bad that you're almost suicidal, then take anti0depressants. But what works well is simply a little counselling session with family members or friends. Or keep yourself busy and occupied.
