What can you do with music in a computer?

I have to write an essay in school so i need some ideas because i don't know what to write.Please help me!!

Its a creative writing so i can write whatever i want that is related to music in computers.

Great! Creative writing is my niche. I'd like to go with fiction now instead of non-fiction if it's ok. You could come up with a plot revolving the use of music in computers that could affect the life of the main protagonist, so the antagonist should be the music in computers. He/she could be addicted to the music in computers or does the job of burning cds or mixing tracks in computers or creating brand new music scores on a program in the computer or something in that line of work. Then put in a climax when you've figured out the problem and resolution. Or you could go with science fiction and come up with a cross between the DCOM Pixel Perfect and another dimension of technology!
Non-fiction could be the usefulness of computer music technology that could give rise to a new generation of genres and styles that can be achieved by tweaking the tracks.

you can use your computer like a juke-box. connect it to the hi-fi and organise a party. you can also use this music to drive visulaisation programs to make pretty images on your monitor.

use sound editing tools to turn music into "samples" which you can re-arrange into new songs.

you can use a computer to write your own music. programs like Propellerhead's Reason can be used to create full electronic tracks on a pretty standard computer.

That's just a few ideas. I would come up with more but I really don't want to write your whole essay for you!

you can listen to music, you can write music, both from notes, and with a guitar or keyboard. You can change music into digital format and back into analog. You can edit and change the sound of music.
