I feel the only time you have the right to call someone ugly is when that person has hurt you and is ugly on the inside as that should be all that matters and not the way someone looks.

NOBODY has that right. What is ugly to one person, may be considered extremely attractive to another. Thank goodness we all have different tastes. Different strokes and all that. Look at some of the African cultures. The women with all the beads around their necks to stretch them would be considered crazy or ugly to some, but to their own culture, the longer the neck, the more beutiful. Or body piercing - to some it's beutiful, to others ugly.

Besides, it is mean and disrespectful. Only a person with no manners, or who has an extremely high opinion of themselves would call someone ugly. Listen to the song Ugly by Bon Jovi - the words are perfect!!

No body has any rights to call anybody as ugly but however there are some people around who call someone ugly and in fact it is they who are ugly though not in appearance but in mind.

No-one really, because beauty really IS in the eye of the beholder. Some cultures like thin women, some like rounder women, some value large rounded bottoms and others don't. I have a Roman nose, for example, not considered attractive in the west but, in Thailand, I was complimented many times on my nose - its shape over there is considered to be very desirable and attractive! I was thrilled!
So 'ugly' is only a concept if you move from one culture or country to another. Still, no-one has the RIGHT to call you ugly. Having said that, I once cried for days after a chap said I wasn't beautiful .... and then suddenly realised that he was overweight with greasy hair! What right did HE have to call me ugly!!!
As you get older you get a thicker skin about it all, and it's easier to laugh it off.
Anyway, me and my Roman nose are gorgeous in Thailand, that keeps me going!

As an ugly person, I think everybody assumes that they have the right. However, I also have the right to tell them exactly what kind of shallow, self-obsessed, vain, spiteful and poisonous people they are - in their case beauty is ankle deep. Being an ugly woman in a beauty obsessed culture is not for the sensitive or the vulnerable - you have to learn to not care, and to fight your corner.

i dont think anyone has the right to call someone ugly, well not to their face anyway. it would just show how shallow someone is, not everything is based on looks and making someone feel horrible is just plan nasty!!

According to the Law.... anyone does its the freeness of speech act. however this does not mean that its true! fact is beauty is in the eye of the beholder! and who cares if someone calles you ugly! sticks and stones......
