What is hannakah about?

I'm muslim but I'm just interested. I mean you hear stuff about christmas and easter but no one really goes round saying happy Hannakah.

it celebrates the redidication of the temple after Judah Maccabee's war against Antiochus IV. supposedly, they had only enough oil to light the lamp for one day, but it burned for eight. hence the menorah.
