I have a weird sore in my mouth, I was wondering if anyone could tell me what it might be.

The sore is on the upperside of my cheek inside my mouth. It looks like a little fold of skin (or cheek to be exact), but is shaped almost pimple like. (but of course you do not have oil glands in your mouth). It hurts a little bit. I know that it isn't a cold sore or a canker sore.

I brush my teeth twice a day, so I don't think I got this from bad hygiene. And I have never kissed anyone before in my life, so that rules that out. Does anyone know what this might be? If you do, what can I do to get rid of it?

Did you by chance jab your gum/cheek lining with your toothbrush or some other abrasive instrument? Or perhaps a sharp piece of food like a corn chip? I've done this countless times. The result is a small tear in the gum or cheek lining that hurts, but doesn't really sting like a canker sore. It also looks very much like a canker sore or blister.

The mouth has an amazing ability to heal itself within a short period of time. Give it another day. If it goes away or heals, then there's nothing to really worry about. But if it doesn't start to heal within another day or two, I'd go to the doctor or dentist. They should be able to tell you what's going on with your mouth. In the meantime, stay away from acidic drinks and foods. Also, chew on the other side of your mouth for a while.

Good luck.

I know how you're feeling, I had a really bad one about a month ago. There isn't really a cure or a way to get rid of them quickly. But you can put some baby orajel on it, that helps a little bit for pain. Gargel warm, salt water. Eat soft foods, like soup, mashed potatoes, that kind of stuff. Make sure you keep your mouth clean. When brushing your teeth, do it gently, especially around where the canker sore is. It should be gone within a week. Mostly you're just gonna have to wait it out- I know it sucks, but time heals everything.

It sounds silly, but did you bite the inside of your cheek? That happens to me sometimes, and the spot swells up and is sensitive for a few days afterwards. If it bothers you, try putting some ice on it. Do you smoke or chew? Sometimes mouth lesions can be caused by those. Go to a doctor if it dosen't go away in a few days, but its probally nothing. You may have even bitten your cheek in your sleep.

It is very difficult to say with any certainty what these are without seeing them. Chances are this is a canker sores (ulcerations of the lining of the mouth), but that isn't for certain. In all likely hood, it will disappear in a few days - problem solved.
