Yes, it's fine to have second thoughts. But if you are having them, sit back and rethink the relationship. It may not be what you want and could be a good sign that you should break it off. When I was engaged to my first husband, I second thought a lot. I married him because I felt everyone wanted me to now that we were engaged. Two kids later, we got divorced. Looking back on it, we should have never gotten married and I should have listened to those second thoughts.
I'm remarried now and never had second thoughts this time.

It is absolutely acceptable to have a ring with a simple garnet set in silver or white gold for an engagement ring. Anymore, engagement rings are very tailored to suit the tastes of the girls wearing them. They certainly don't have to be diamonds anymore! Also, usually you have your engagement ring and then a band of your choice... it can be a simple and inexpensive band if you want. However, if you just want to use the engagement ring as your wedding ring, there is nothing wrong with that. You would take it off before the wedding and give it back to your husband. Then, he would put that ring on during your ring ceremony. Or, you could simply leave the ring ceremony out of your wedding, if you wish.

yeah it's okay... what a lot of people have been saying it's better to have second thoughts than to have second thoughts when you are married. You can always cancel or postpone the wedding. It doesn't do a lot of damage... but a divorce will

yes of course it is. Its better that you have second though now, rather than when you are married and you have spent all that money.
Talk out what is worrying you with your other half or your parents after all getting married is a big step and you want to make the right decision

Depends on the situation, and on the nature of the "second thoughts". Sometimes, the gut feeling is worth listening to. Other times, you're simply feeling "unsure" becuase of the importance of the decision ahead, on the one hand, and the lack of confidence in your decision-making abilities, on the other.
