All of those who lived before Jesus looked forward to Him. This is why they had the sacrifice. We can see this best with Abraham when he offered Issac. Abraham showed faith because he said that GOD would provide a lamb and that even if God did not, Abraham said he knew God could bring Isaac back from the dead. God did provide a sacrifice...a scape goat which represented Jesus and God did provide a lamb...the LAMB OF GOD.
Faith in God through Jesus Christ saves us now...and it was the same faith that saved those before Christ.
Gen 15:6 (Abraham) believed in the LORD and He counted it to him for righteousness. compare with 2 Cor. 5:21 where Jesus became sin for us so we can be made the righteousness of God through Jesus.
Whenever the OT talks about "the Angle of the LORD" it was Jesus they were seeing.
Papa Bear there is no problem. We are told about Abraham's bosom and that Abraham looked for a city whose builder and maker was GOD. He was not looking to be on paradise earth forever. There will be a new heaven and a new Earth...as the old are passed away. In Rev. it talks about the Holy City coming down from above...and it will eventually be ONE place because Jesus will have ONE flock and there will be ONE shepherd...JESUS!

I assume you are an honest inquirer. Jesus replied to the Pharisees who proudly said that they were the children of Abraham: "Before Abraham was, I am". "I AM" is the name of God, which is Yahweh, or I AM THAT I AM. It actually means the Everlsating One. He is the promised "seed" of the woman in Eden. He was the Lamb of God from the foundation of the world.
He was the One prophesied by all the prophets. Among others Isaiah in 9:6
For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Amazingly, Laozi (Laotze), the Ancient Chinese Great Teacher or Sage, prophesied also about this.
Something mysteriously already made, Existing (living) before heaven and earth in the silence and the void, Standing alone and unchanging, Ever present in constant (cyclic) motion. Perhaps He is the source of myriads of things, I do not know His name. Call Him Dao, For lack of a better word,
I call Him "the Almighty."
-- Gia FuFeng and Jane English, Translation of Lao Zi, Tao Te Ching (Toronto: Vintage Books, RandomHouse,Inc. 1989),Ch.25,p.255.
"Dao"(also spelled "Tao") émeans "Way/Path/Word/Truth/Doctrine".
Who is this Word, or Way or Truth who created everything?
Compare it with John 1:1-5, 14, and you will see that He is the same Jesus, the God who became Man to save us.
"1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2He was with God in the beginning.
3Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4In him was life, and that life was the light of men. 5The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it.
14The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only,[d] who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
He Himself proclaimed: "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. " John 14:6

You need to read the Bible more so that you can understand some of these simple things. Jehovah in the OT is Jesus in the NT. He is one and the same being but in the OT the way to the Throne of God was restricted because man had fallen from grace and only the High priest had access to the Holy of Holies. Jesus, the perfect sacrifice, came to be that way and give people free access to God's throne. The great Creator became the Saviour.

And so comes one of the problems with the Heaven theory. At least with JWs, they hope to see them, as well as perhaps the builders of the pyramids, after Armageddon.

Since they came BEFORE CHRIST they were not Christians and they will be judged from their covenant with GOD the Old Testament. If you read in Hebrews it will talk about Noah and some of the others before Christ's time. You and I will not be judged from the OT because we lived after HIS ascension into HeAvEn.
To become a real Christian, we are told that we must HEAR the WORD in John 6:45, Jesus said, “It is written in the prophets, And they shall all be taught by God. Therefore everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to Me.” We are also told so in Romans 10:17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. We are told the we must BELIEVE in Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. We are also told so in Mark 16:16, Jesus said “He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.” and in John 5:24 "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life. We are told that we must REPENT (or turn from sin) in Luke 13:3 I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish. Also in Acts 17:30 Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent. We are told to CONFESS CHRIST in Romans 10:9-10 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. We are also told in 1 Timothy 6:12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. We are to be BAPTIZED according to Acts 2:38 Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” and Mark 16:16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. We are to CONTINUE to be FAITHFUL UNTIL DEATH according to Revelation 2:10c Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life. We also know that Paul wrote in Romans 14:12 each of us shall give account of himself to God. It is important that we not ignore what is written, change what is written, or add to what is written in the New Testament which is our Christian Guide. Have a great week.
