I`d think it`s a good thing as long as you both have love for one another and intend to love the child just as much (if you have one). Most relationships are either quickies or one night stands with strangers from Friday nights out and of course the risk of STD`s is higher.... Even if there is no sexual attraction between you, best of friends usually make a good partnerships and therefore I`d say it`s OK.

What for, oh yeah 'cause everyone else is having one so we should create a human being for our own amusement. But not in a sexual way, umm grow up, party, live long, meet a partner and then when you are ready make a commitment and have a child then do so. Don't do it because you want the money, or it is fashionable to wreck your life. Seems like people who have children for the money are as shallow as a gutter.

What might seem like a good idea right now can get very complicated in years to come. The father might meet someone and have a family of his own (or you might), and then your poor child is stuck with being the outsider who has to visit every other weekend.
It's a bit like having a child knowing full well that there is every chance you are going to get divorced in a few years. That can't be good for the child.

My honest opinion on this one is NO. Definitely not. What happens when they finally find someone that they do love and want to spend the rest of their lives with?? They have a baby together, but they do not love each other as two people who want a baby should. This is just my opinion and it is not meant to upset anyone.

No, not really. Parenting a mad life and for two people who really are committed to each other. 2 friends, although there may be real love between them just don't have what it takes to parent a child effectively. I also love it when everyone gets all angsty and serious over questions!

This is a bit strange. If you are both hetrosexual and both love each other, it would be totally normal for you to have sexual feelings for each other.
If you really don't have such feelings, then perhaps what you call love is just a good friendship. If that is the case I would suggest you don't have a baby together.

I suppose if your getting to the age where its your last chance to be a parent or something then.... I suppose in the right surcumstances, and the right time....I dont know!
You have to consider what it will be like if the mum meets a guy and moves in with him, hows the friend going to feel when the kid start calling the other guy daddy, but I suppose there are lots of things to consider.
It would be helpfull if we had a few more details....

first watch that film with madonna in (cant remember what its called) but she has a baby with her best friend who is gay and it all goes horribly wrong.
It may seem perfect now but you may meet someone down the line who you would like to spend the rest of your life with, he will move in with you and the child and you will want him to treat you child as their own, where will that leave your best friend the dad, or what if he finds someone and abandons you.
its a tough one chick but only the 2 of you will know if it is the right thing to do, and if you feel it is then good luck to you, babys get born into some terrible situations but at least your child will have a lot of love and will be wanted xx

hmm....tricky. i think that if either of u cant have children and want to help the other one out, then yes it's ok. the one thing i would say is that make sure you both make a legal contract as to who would look after the child/ren if something were to happen to the both of u ...his family/ your family. Also would you live together, and how would the finances work? basically if u have made all the correct decisions, then go for it!

i cant see why not, now a days it will prob be the best seems as most mums and dads cant stand to be in the same room as each other lol, so it would prob be good for the child to grow up in a stable enviroment
