Well actually the pain originates in your brain. Scientific studies have found that the area of the brain which deal with rejection is the same area which is activated when you feel physical pain. So the reason rejection seems to hurt so much more than grief or anger is because it actually does physically hurt!
There have been several studies that have proved this to be the case. Google 'Rejection Hurts' and you'll find loads.
It has also been suggested that feelings like love and anger are felt much more strongly in a person's teens than later on in life, but I dont know the exact reasoning behind this.

I truelly believe that your heart is the enternal soul to feeling pain and love. I remember when I broke up years ago with my first boyfriend, the pain was immense and my chest actually throbbed with pain. I vowed I would never have my heart broken again and since then I have not allowed my heart to be in such pain. As for answering as to why we do not feel pain in our head or body, I believe that it is a release of letting go and allowing our mind and body to relax, but the heart is weak and feels allthe pain there is to feel.

Rejection is a horrible thing. Your body can not reject your head...but when your heart hurts and you try to change it... your body rejects the change. I mean you have to hurt if you invested any emotion in you relationship. The good thing is your heart is the biggest hard working muscle in your body. The extra pain will make it grow stronger.

Becauz heart is an important part of our body . It wil pain when it breakes becauz it is the pain of death.
