I'm sure that it hurts...however if your boyfriend was the one for you, then I would not throw it away just because of your parents. n

It's not your parents who will marry and live with your bf. Don't be discouraged if they don't like him. But be objective in analyzing his characteristics. I'm sure there are reasons why your family don't like him. Is he lazy? Does he has stable job? Does he know how to respect your parents? Can he give you a decent house or life when you marry him? Ask yourself of things like that and compare it with his positive characteristics. Then if his negative is lesser than his positive, then you can go on with your relationship with him and never mind your relatives' opinion. Or maybe you are still too young to be involved in a serious relationship that is why you are being warned by them. Just don't jump into conclusions, be analytical.

Why doesn't your family like your boyfriend? A lot of times love "blinds" us and we don't see things that others see. And, while you may see it as your family being mean, they may see it as them protecting you from him.

For all I know, your boyfriend could be the greatest guy in the world and your family could be jerks. But, you need to know the honest reason why your family does not like your boyfriend before you make your choice.

Listen to your family. Unless they are being prejudice based on religion or race, they are probably looking out for your interest. I'm in the same spot and it is the toughest decision I have ever had to make, but I know that my family is right.
