Evolution is a false theory. it is only a theory. use of imaginative drawings and propaganda by scientists encourages most ppl to think that it is in fact true. natural selection is NOT the same as evolution. natural selection is the passing of the best fitting genes to offspring. evolution implies that all diverse species came from a similar source before evolving into different groups (eg. mammals, reptiles etc.). If this were so, there would have been fossils to show intermediates (eg. half - reptiles half mammals). Yet there are no *real* fossils that prove this. Of course there was a fake cranium that had features of humans and apes but it was later discovered how far evolutionists are prepared to go. They merged the skull of an ape and human! All real fossils suggest that the different species came about at once. Evolution also implies that creation came about by chance. BUT that has been proven wrong time and time again. In fact, the chance of a protein molecule being formed *by chance* is 1*10^10000 when the number that suggests impossibility is 1*10^50! A single protein/ cell is so complex to suggest that it has been created by chance is pure nonsense. Just as it is to assume that when walking into a jungle we find a plane - and assume that it was made by chance (by the wind etc). another reason why evolution is wrong is because we cannot simplify life, if we do it won't work. life is like a piece of clockwork - needs every single part for it to work.

Did we evolve or were we created? I think it was both.
In the beginning we were created - by a Supreme Being.
Then SB stepped back and let nature take its course and nature has evolved ever since.
If this is Intelligence Design then thats what I beleive.
As for when the planet itself was formed - I'm inclined to go with several million years. I beleive man lived with the dinosaurs (behemoths of the bible) but the planet is quite a bit more than 7500 years old.
I don't beleive the long lifespans of men in the OT is literal or acceptable as a chronology.

I believe in pragmatism. We don't know everything and it's not a sin to admit uncertainty. On the contrary, it's sometimes the only honest position.
Creationism and Darwinism are not the only possibilities. For example, it's possible that evolution could be a mechanism of the creation process. There are different possible creation scenarios -- most creationists do not believe in the young earth theory.
It's better to acknowledge what we don't know than it is to pretend that our favorite theory is truth.

None of the above. I accept evolution. No need to believe, we have facts. Calling it Darwinism makes it sound like we're worshipping a person instead of accepting his ideas, and that's definitely not what science is about. There is plenty of other evidence besides evolution that the planet is 4.6 billion years old - radioactive isotopes, for one.

i think creatism is a metaphorical "review" of how things actually happened which would be darwinism or evolution
people in older times wouldnt understand darwinism/evolution back then if it had been "explained" to them that way, so they learned it all as metaphores

It is possible to believe both, since Evolution doesn't pretend to explain how life first started. Just how it evolved. As long as you don't hold every word of a 2000 year old often mistranslated book as "absolute truth", both ideas are compatible.

For those who don't know, Darwinism IS Evolution:

The only belief that has at least some fact to it.
