My pug eats alot and she even eats my other dog's poo. She is definitely not hungry as I fed her more than the normal intake.

From what I've heard there are several reasons for this.
A. The dog is trying to help keep the place clean
B. The Dog is trying to get the extra undigested nutrients this is also common of several species of rodents such as rabbits and chinchillas.
C. This is natural instinct. Wolves often eat their puppies' poop to help keep them from being tracked by predators
D. They just like it. I think D is the most likely answer I know all the dogs I've had seem to be fond of cat poop.

I didn't learn this until recently either. But dogs only digest a certain amount of the food they eat and the other percent comes out along with their feces. He's going for the undigested food. Strange but true.

LOL, great question!

I would like to know the answer to this too.

My Shih Tzu's eat their own poo, too and probably eachother's as well! I usually joke that its because they are SH*T Zu's not Shih Tzu's lol.

They are not imbred...

It seems like only the small breed dogs do this. I've never had my rott or my lab do that.
