Why do they hurt so much coming in?

Wisdom teeth which are another name for adult teeth hurt because sometimes there is not enough room in the jaw for them to come through completely. Some wisdom teeth therefore become buried or partially through. Wisdom teeth that are able to come through will have pain or just discomfort. Once they are through then the pain will subside. If the wisdom tooth/teeth are impacted which means they have no room to come through them your dentist may suggest having them removed. You have to remember that the pain and soreness from the tooth coming through is normally from the gum. Your gum is having to split to allow the tooth to come through. Hope that helps

When you are very young your gums are quite soft and so the teeth can come out easily. But for babies this is a difficult time.
Once you are grown up, (20-25) the jaw is set and the gums harden. Also there is not enough space for the wisdom teeth.

So the wisdom teeth have to push against the hard gums and against the other teeth to make space. Maybe that´s what makes it painful.

Because they're pushing through the gums and cutting them. Like when a baby gets new teeth. They really do hurt though don't they?! I would recommend going to the chemist and getting the strongest pain killers they will give you over the counter. Just ask for that and they'll give you the best thing. Seriously - the creams and gels do not work!

now you know why teething babies make such a racket!!! They coming through your skin and pushing other teeth out of the way to make room - that's often why you need them removed.
If they are really painful, rather than just aching, then I would definitely see your dentist just to check that you don't have a problem. Wisdom teeth often come through just fine, apart from the pain, and stay in the mouth - often, however, they are removed if they are going to cause dental problems later in life.

Wisdom Teeth hurt whenever they come in because they are pushing through the back of your gum. and it stretches the back of your mouth and your not used to that.

Generally, there isn't enough room in the jaw to accomodate the extra teeth. They are shoving your other teeth around plus they are trying to cut through the skin of your gums.
