First check your coolant recovery tank and see if any coolant is present...Do you smell something kinda sweet, and under the hood do you see any signs of white smoke..Also you might wany to check to see if the cooling fans are coming on, that is after you make sure that you have coolant in the car..Also do you hear and grinding sound that you didn't hear before..email me back at gotspeed7883@yahoo.com....

Actually it could something more than just coolant. Take it to a mechanic you can trust. They should not charge you for a quick inspection because if they are good like a GM dealer they know that these car models have the same quirks, same problems and may be able to tell you right away. Many times GM will send the dealer tech bulletins on recalls and other problems specific to a particular model car. Go to a dealer instead of relying on the web or you could spend alot of money needlessly or worse, left stranded.

Change out the thermostat and flush the radiator coolant and change the belts and hoses while you are their. Most likely the thermostat is bad. If you really want to be cheap about it, just change the thermostat, but I recomend doing the rest of the above anyhow.

Make sure you have the right level of coolant, replace the thermostat, and get your cooling system flushed. That ought to keep it from overheating.
