it's late (after 1am), my parents are alseep. i'm tired, and i want to sleep, but all i can think about is cutting myself or taking all five of the tylenol/codiene pills i have downstairs, and some other things that i don't even want to say. and i'm only 13 so don't say to drink alcohol or stuff.

I can't sleep either. It's 4:28 am and my children and husband are all sleeping. I am 30 and when I was a teenager I felt a lot like you do right now. I cut myself and took two bottles of pills. I got really scared and called my mom and she got an ambulance and they saved me. Not a very fun experience. Being a teenager is very hard but take my word, it goes by faster than you might think it will. You have so many great experiences yet to come and probably a lot of people who would be miserable if you took your life. My suggestions is to put on your favorite CD and think of the good things in life. Even if it's just the thought of a cute guy or a beautiful sunset it's better than thinking of the bad things that are going on in your life right now. And one more thing, if you believe in God, pray to him and ask him to put his arms around you, comfort you, give you peace and rock you to sleep. That works for me.

Look online or in the phone book for a teen suicide prevention hotline. Call and talk to someone. It may help just to get some things out and off your mind.

stay away from tea or coffee after 7. drinking warm milk does help. you have to relax your mind. the more you force yourself to sleep, the more you can't.

try reading a really interesting (but boring hopefully) book...This should keep your interest just enough to put you to sleep. good luck and please don't hurt yourself cutting or whatever else.
