The Special K "drop a jean size" challenge should be banned on the grounds that it is bad for your health. Special K has 17g of sugar per 100g whilst cornflakes, which are not marketed as for slimming, have only 8g. In addition they have very little fibre and are not in the slightest bit filling.
Special K is promoted on the grounds of being low fat. But they are high sugar and it is sugar that is the root cause of the current obesity problem. It is likely that eating Special K twice a day for two weeks will produce a short term weight loss. It will however do nothing for your health and may make you fatter in the long run. Eating such low fibre high sugar foods means that glucose is released rapidly into your blood stream. Your body then produces insulin to bring down the blood sugar levels often leaving you feeling tired and in need of a sugar fix. When insulin constantly has to mop up loads of blood sugar it ends up being stored as fat. If you want to lose weight and feel great do a Low GL diet. It works and you will be working towards optimum health and a weight that will regulate itself. Don't be stooged by the big food manufacturers - their agenda is to discourage you from eating real food which means no profits for them. They don't want you to eat fresh foods and they couldn't give a toss about your health only about their balance sheet. Low fat, high carbohydrate eating creates lardy bodies.

These heavily processed breakfast cereals are pure poison and very bad for you - I don't eat them anymore. Much better to have good old-fashioned porridge for breakfast, made with water or milk, and you can add raisins, seeds, nuts, cinnamon, fruit, yoghurt, honey ... and that's a combination that keeps you going until lunch. Easily.

At the last place I worked, we always did this diet in January - about 6 of us all together, and no one ever seemed to loose any weight! One gal did get really faint alot cos she just ate cereal, no main meal.

I don't think that would work. You would be doing MUCH better eating more fruits and vegetables (not potatoes).
Good Luck!
