It may be that there is nothing wrong with your teeth at all, but a check-up at the Dentist is a good idea anyway, because a little filling or two will prevent worse decay if any cavities are starting. The strange sensation in your teeth could be the result of clenching your jaw, perhaps when sleeping or maybe you've been playing video games, or concentrating hard on something. Perhaps you are anemic even, I know my whole face feels strange, my tongue numb when my iron levels fall, so even a trip to the doctor would be a good move.

You need to see a dentist.

Make a point of letting the dental receptionist know that you are afraid. Sometimes it helps if you meet the dentist first, before any work is done. Explain that you have fears. A good dentist will be understanding and help you to be comfortable.

Be true to your teeth or they will be false to you. If you do not go to the dentist you will have a miserable life with pain and an ugly mouth...the dentist will end up pulling them all out.

If it happens when you eat something like ice cream, something that is really cold, or very warm, your teeth are just sensitive. There are some tooth pastes that help relieve this, like Sensodyne. If not, you really should have your teeth checked.
