Instructions should be printed on the back on how to pay the ticket or dispute the ticket.

I do live in Texas. Since your record was clean you can go to the traffic court and request to be allowed to take Defensive Driving in exchange for the ticket not showing on your record. You still have to pay the ticket and the cost of traffic school but it is not on your record to increase your insurance rates. You should call the police department in the actual city you got the ticket and find out where the traffic court is. Ours is beside the police station. Only catch to doing it this way is if you get a ticket in the next 3 years it will go on your record. You can only take Defensive Driving every 3 years in the state of Texas. They now have Defensive Driving on line. This qualifies also if you can't go to a class. Might ask the traffic court if there is one they recommend.
Good luck.

The no contest plea just means you don't admit any wrong doing, but you are not going to fight the charges in court. you wouldn't plead that to a traffic ticket unless somebody was going to sue you over an accident. If you don;t have a defense, you might want to ask if you can attend some kind of traffic school to reduce the points on your licence. Tell the court you are hoping for some mitigation, and that you plan to drive the speed limit in the future. If you need to drive to get to job after school, you might want to work that in. Dress well for court and remain respectful at all times. Do not lie to the court. Don't hope for very much. The fact that you got a speeding ticket this early in your driving career doesn't help your case. Are your parents attending? "I am not going to say I wasn't paying attention" I agree, not a good idea to say that. If you said "I wasn't paying attention to my speedometer." that would be better, but is it essentially a guilty plea.

Plead innocent and go to court. If the officer that gave you the ticket does not show, you win and the ticket will be dropped. If he shows, argue your point with the Judge and see what happens. If you are polite, even if he finds you guilty, he probably will lower the fine. Don't be afraid to ask him to drop the charge based on your perfect record and your unfamiliarity with your new location. All he can say is No. The main thing is to be polite, it goes a long way with Judges.
Good Luck.

Go to court and ask for traffic school. This will cost about $80 and take a day of your life. If you have no recent tickets (3 yrs i think) you are ok to do this. NO POINTS!

I don't know I don't live in Texas. I assume that you would have to pay the ticket though.

If you got a ticket, you need to pay it or contest it in court. If it was unfair then you just might win.
Good Luck.
