I only know of Jell-o shot recipes to contain vodka...does anyone have any other recipes? I am interested in making them with rum...any thoughts?

Use strawberry light jello and mix in mango flavoured rum. It is twenty percent. At higher percentages of pure rum it is too strong. Coconut rum is also good, along with vanilla. Let it set over two hours and serve in small fruit cups.

Sure can. The only guide line to follow is (generally - not always) the lighter the liquor, the easier to mix. So a light rum would mix better than a dark rum, unless you're mixing it with a really strong flavor. Try blackberry jell-o if you want to use a darker rum. Oh and coconut flavored rum with pineapple jell-o, a little dessert pina colada without the work!
Drink responsibly!

Yes I've made them with rum. I'll have some with vodka and some with rum. Try flavored rum too. Like I've used pinapple rum with the Cherry jello and my friends loved the combination. Just try to keep it to the light/clear rums and you will be fine.

You can make a nice pina colada flavoured jello shot by using Malibu coconut rum and pineapple jello.

Follow the method on the box of jello your using for the Quick Cooling method. For one small box of Jello, you would use 1/3cup of the liquor of your choice. Put in ice cube trays sprayed with a non-stick cooking spray so they come out easy. Use a non flavored one though. If you want to get really creative pour the jello and liquor onto a cookie sheet and once it sets, use little cookie cutters to make cute shapes. My mom was a bartender and every Saturday night for ladies night they made Jello-Shooters. This is the way they made it at the bar she worked at. Be sure you can let them set at least 4-6hrs.
