To make a long story as short as I can...... My 16 year old son was molested by a deputy Sheriff that my husband worked with. (He also is a deputy.)He was arrested and is serving a small amount of time in jail. The Sheriff called the jail that this deputy was being sent to an asked that Sheriff if he would look after his deputy because he made a little mistake. That is not the only thing that ticked me off. My son has been seing a doctor for seizures that did not appear until this sexual crime happend. Not once has the Sheriff asked me or my husband how we, or my son is doing. But he has came to my husband 3 times and all he has asked is that my son give back a game that the other deputies daughter said he had. (Which he does not have) Isn't this harassment? I am alone on this because my husband will not help me in fear of losing his job, and everyone else is this darn community don't want to help me because it involves the Sheriff. What are my rights? Someone please help me!!!!!

So what you are saying is your husband is just as bad as the one that hurt your son. The SOB that ever molest my kid (another cop) or not would not FIND ME SIDING WIYH HIM just because I was afraid of loosing my job----apparently your husband thinks more of his job than he does his FAMILY
You can still file a FORMAL WRITTEN COMPLAINT against the guy. Just make certain you turn it into the right people, get a stamped, dated, and time( when filed) with signature or initials of the one you gave it to then have a copy made for yourself and DO NOT LEAVE UNTIL YOU HAVE the copy in your hand. And bug the HELL out of them until they do something. This is uncalled for and your husbands actions are certainly uncalled for.
Such a woos when it comes to satnding up and SUPPORTING his family. THIS IS NOT A MAN --this is a COWARD!!!!! DO NOT Let your coward of a husband talk you out of this--------someone has to take care of the family and it is UP TO YOU TO DO SO. Go for it !!!! ( ex cop here)

I would call the DA's office and inform them of the problem you and your family are having. Then I would e mail or call the Fox News Channel and report the problem to them to bring the pressure on this local law enforcement agency to do the right thing. Your Husband needs to stand up for his Son, not worry about his job !!! Your Son was molested, you are the innocent victims here !!! Please call the District Attorney and the Head of the Sheriffs for your County, then also report it to the local news agencies and Fox News !!! Sorry this happened to your Son and Family !!! We will keep your Family in our prayers :O)

File a complaint with the Attorney General, Governs office call your State senator and congressmen also call the local newspapers. Get a lawyer and sue the state.

yeah, an attorney is probably your best bet, since it sounds like restraining orders are out of the question because of your husband's reluctance. Honestly, not to sound like a total jerk and completely heartless (I do not envy your position), but if your son has been molested you may have to choose between your son's health and wellbeing versus your husband's career.

Good luck.

Oh, and have you considered the local media?

It's horrible what happened to your son, but where's the harassment? You're mainly upset that the sheriff is not showing the concern that he should be. I don't blame you. I don't know what I would do if it were my child but it still is not harassment.

i am sorry for what happened & i don't know how to help now. but most sheriff positions are an elected positions. if that is the circumstance where you live. when it is time for re-election, use your resources (local newspaper, local tv stations) to campaign against this guy & get him out of that positionl.

best of luck

Can you move?

Him asking for a game 3 times isn't harassment.

try and find a lawyer to make a civil case against the sheriff, and hit him where it hurts in the pocket book

It is not harassment to ask for games back.
Go to your local news paper and tell them your story,
after that I'm sure someone will step up and help,
the papers are not scare of anything or anyone.
