thank you all for taking the time to respond but rather then why the war is there I only asked if the reason there was no international protest over the Ethiopian invasion was because they were fighting Muslims . some of you want to agree with that with provide some justification < Quote > if you knew these countries are taking boys and girls slaves < end quote > while informative is not relevant to the Question .
another answer is Ethiopians are supporting the UN supported Government . But I have seen no UN mandate to them to do anything like that .
last of all Mark g Pointed out more crimes of the Muslims in Somalia and that they were trying to overthrow UN recognized Government ( I never could figure out how a UN recognized Governament is relevant at all to the population over which it rules ! I thought Democracy was people choose not mandated by UN or US ) in any case aside from the fact that it still just provides reason for the war not the reason for no protest

Oh besides all of north Africa is Already Muslim so a threat of converting most of it is irrelevant as well .
So I gather from the Comments that My premise is true because the Ethiopian invasion is acceptable because its against Muslims ?

Possibly because the Muslim Council of Church's (what they call themselves there) were executing people for not praying five times a day, listening to western music, reading anything other than the Koran, and in any way trying to get news or information. They also plainly stated that their goal was to force all of northern Africa to Islam. They were trying to overthrow the actual UN recognized government of Ethiopia. Ethiopia saw them as a threat to their sovereignty also.

If you knew that these countries are taking women, girls, boys men into slavery, would you be asking that? Entire communities are being wiped out by starvation and genocide. They are fighting them because they are because Christian and Jews. These Ethiopians and some Somalians are defending themselves with little or no Western support. How many Western Churches or human rights groups are even addressing it? Could it be Satan? Or Racism?

Women and girls are being raped and female genital mutilations performed. Raped women are often given deep bites on the neck to indicate they are not suitable brides and have been raped sometimes by more than one man at a time. Muslims see nothing wrong with it.

This is what they would do to you for either belief in another religion, or no belief at all, homosexual and no equality for women and None at all for anyone other than Muslims.

Beginning in 1993, a two-year UN humanitarian effort (primarily in the south) was able to alleviate famine conditions, but when the UN withdrew in 1995, having suffered significant casualties, order still had not been restored. The mandate of the Transitional National Government (TNG), created in August 2000 in Arta, Djibouti, expired in August 2003. A two-year peace process, led by the Government of Kenya under the auspices of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), concluded in October 2004 with the election of Abdullahi YUSUF Ahmed as Transitional Federal President of Somalia and the formation of a transitional government, known as the Somalia Transitional Federal Institutions (TFIs). The Somalia TFIs include a 275-member parliamentary body, known as the Transitional Federal Assembly (TFA), a transitional Prime Minister, Ali Mohamed GHEDI, and a 90-member cabinet. The TFIs are currently divided between Mogadishu and Jowhar, but discussions to co-locate the TFIs in one city are ongoing. Suspicion of Somali links with global terrorism further complicates the picture. *

The Ethopians are trying to keep the government set up by the UN in the 1900s from crumbling to dust. There has been more suffering in Somalia than any people should have to bear. Kenya is trying to keep the rebels out of their country. Somalia's instabilty is effecting the entire area. Muslim extremists are in there to get what they can out of the situation. These type of problems are exacerbated by sending young Jidihadis in training in to do some practice killing. Check out the link below for the map and more info.

yes..What people dont realise is that the Somali government is an extremely oppressive government which is mostly run by warlords who have checkpoints , rape girls and women , take ranson and basically terrorize the people..The oppression was soo bad that there are 1000's of refugees in Kenya who were there for as long as 15 years.Yes the Somali government and Ethopia are allies and Somalia ask Ethopia for help because the Somalian people dont support its own government.

Keep in mind most people on Somalia even the Christians support Islamic Courts. The government is trying to make it a religious issue when in reality its about the Somalis getting sick and tired of curruption. Here Are some facts:
- Somalia is a mostly muslim country.
-Also the Somalian government is extremely corrupt and oppressed its people ..
-Before the Islamic courts took over Somalia was full of checkpoints;and inorder to go passed the government warlords you had to pay them.
-If you wanted to open a business you would have to pay for protection and if you didn't God help you.
-When the Islamic courts took over the Somali people stood together and stopped all checkpoints and helped and stop corruption and crime went dramatically lower.
-They (the islamic courts )told the gov. that they dont want to take over the government they are just sick of the crimes and corruption .
-The Somali government's warlords tried to go about their business of terror but with the help of the Somali people they were all brought to justice.
-They(the islamic courts) have never punished anyone for their religion. This is what is said by the government and Ethiopia to get outside support.
-The Somali gov..wants to dismantle the Islamic courts inorder to go back to oppressing its ppl..so they asked Ethiopia for help since most Somalis dont support their gov. and told them that this is a religious war even affiliating it with AlQaeda which the courts deny..
P.S.If Islamic courts were oppressive then WHY do ALL SOMALIS SUPPORT THEM and not their government..
-Ethiopia has no right to occupy and attack and kill innocent ppl..Its wronge And there is NOO excuse....
P.S.The Somalis were protesting the invasion of their country yesterday and Ethiopian troops shot into the crowd and killed three innocent civillians including a 12 year old boy.
A true christian does not support such actions.
IF you want accurate info speak to a native Somali he would know.
I hope this helps remember not to believe everything you hear ... There are allot of rumors out there.

They wanted to get some Lebanese Christians, to give it a racist flavor, as well, but the Israelis and Syrians had already killed them all.

i think all involvement in war has a hidden agenda. almost always has to do with power for monetary gain. bottom line somebody very powerful is getting very rich from that and all wars.
