Now you know how pit bull owners fell and the rottweilers will go the way of the pit. Why? The media seeing only rott attacks. No breed is inheirenty bad, but people wanting a macho dog looks to the latest in breed which at this time is the rottweilers. They will be mishandled, abused, fought abused and let run free to do harm and all rotts will pay the price. In the 90's pit bulls were the bad dogs and the bad press as casued many place to ban them. The humans that casue the problems should be the ones paying the price. Most offten if anything is done at all it is just a slap on the wrist. Start now YELL LOUD make people see its not the breed but the deed that is wrong and in 95% of the time a human is to blame for the deed.

There was a young child killed by a pit bull at New Year, and this always brings up the issue of other so called dangerous breeds. I don't believe there are such things as dangerous breeds as ALL dogs, even the dinky little ones are capable of seriously injuring or killing a child or baby. There are certain breeds that are viewed by experts as more likely to turn on a human, especially breeds that were used for fighting, such as pit bulls. I think a lot of it comes down to the handling of the dog, and how it was trained, but I would still never risk leaving a dog with a child, no matter what size the dog was, they are animals after all and react with instinct rather than thought. I would not even leave my cat alone with a child, animals and children need constant supervision, better safe than sorry.

Because people are ignorant and refuse to listen to reason. That shows with some of the posts on this question. ALL dogs are capable of biting/attacking not just a certain breed. And the blame usually either lies with the OWNERS or the PARENTS (if it is a child involved). I own a rottie and she is the sweetest dog I've ever come in contact with, she wouldn't hurt a fly and loves children (although I wouldnt leave a child unnatended with her-like ANY dog no matter what breed or size, for my dogs safety and the childs because sorry but kids can be mean and anything can happen) I can't stand it when idiots claim that they are "dangerous" or "mean", they are just ignorant and people like that are much more dangerous than any type of dog.

All canines, no remember the breed, may well be stable around little ones, depending on you. you will might desire to oversee while the canines and the little ones are jointly. you will might desire to make optimistic the little ones are taught a thank you to act around canines, and you will might desire to prepare the canines a thank you to act around little ones. those issues do might desire to study. they don't look to be automatic. It seems such as you have your hands complete with 2 toddlers. fake like the recent canines is yet another newborn because of the indisputable fact that's what they are going to be. only as lots time and interest, exceptionally in case you get a domestic dog. Are you waiting for that. Are you waiting for the time beyond regulation and rate? Rottweilers are additionally vast, stable and head stable canines. Are you the very employer chief type? Are are you extra of the laid decrease back, do what ever you opt for type? The Rottweiler will want the 1st. Are you bodily stable because of the fact an entire length Rott may well be a hundred to a hundred and fifty pounds? they are thank you to special for me. i could have a annoying time continuously attempting to administration a canines like that. in case you insist once you have a great stable canines like that inspect a head halter with the intention to stroll them, in any different case the canines will drag you down the line every time. A Rottweiler does not only want numerous room. Heck, an Italian Greyhound can run circles around a backyard quicker than a Rottweiler. A Rottweiler want numerous socialization meaning education type, walks interior the community and interplay with strangers.

Human nature i would guess. People always think that if a certain breed of dog does this, then the whole breed is bad. In my area, the Pit bull is the enemy. I have even had 1 attack my Jack Russell. Do I hate the breed??? No, just people who raise the gladiator type of dog and do not know what to do with it. I have a Jack Russell and he is gentle as a kitten and loves everyone. 80% of them are mean according to the vet. Any dog who is not properly socialized and trained can develop issues such as aggression or fear biting. Is it the dog's fault or ours???? Mostly ours I would think. Great question. Take care

I just think some people don't understand dogs, big dogs especially, one time we parked the car in the parking lot in the back seat was my 2 grand daughters my black lab and the beagle when a man made the comment to me that I should be ashamed of my self putting the kids in jeopardy with that big black dog in the back, they explained to me that he was going to bite my grand daughters,. I invited him to step up to the car and try to touch the door handle, when he did he jumped back a few feet then I asked him how safe are my grand daughters
It is just pure ignorance, like the people that want say a rottie then they get this cute little pup that grows and is unmanageable because of no or little training, the pup ends up living outside or goes to the pound.
My ex friend had a Shepard pure bread when it got to big to handle she built a pen and forgot about it basically the 8 year old in charge of clean up food and water, One day while doing yard work she noticed the dog was quite thin she yelled at her son to feed the dog and went in the house, the poor dog was so starved he jumped on the kid while he was pouring food in the bowl, he took the bowl from the dog to fill and the dog attacked him and bit his face up, it was bad very bad plastic surgery and everything, she had to put it in quarantine then she shot it and now tells everyone that all big dogs are bad and if people have kids it should be against the law to own large dogs. Needless to say my opinion of the situation caused her to never want to talk to me again!

No dog will hurt a child which lives around it, but beware the day when that child tries to hurt the dog. The dog will only, because of natural instinct protect itself.
People with dogs should take more care of the children around the dogs.

When a tragedy happens the press etc. look into the archives and dig up any old tat they can find. Its just rotten luck that Rottweilers are being persecuted like this. Where I live in Scotland, its those bloody Japanese Akitas they want to round up. NOW THAT IS A BAD DOG.

i have a red welsh collie, who is not good with children at all. She is a timid dog anyway, and is very alert all the time, and i think she sees children as boisterous and unpredictable. So all in all i would never allow children to stroke her or come near her. She was brought up with children, and well socialized, but she is still fearful of them. So she does not have contact with children. I certainly would not put her in a situation for anything to happen. So finally i am saying, it is not just the so called dangerous breeds that can attack. but also the so called gentle delightful breeds, like my collie.
i love her to bits though.
