Some churches abuse it. The church rightfully uses it to support missions, feed the hungry and homeless, help in catastrophies, etc.

I agree that money is the root of evil but money is also important for life to continue. And if there is no money there would be no life. And I think that the church also takes money to make itself more like a church like for maintainance, candles and other things.

I agree with Aisha SWT. Its the Love of Money that is the root of all evil. Churches need money too. No organisation or institution runs solely on hope and charity!

Priests and pastors and parish workers need to be paid - just like the Levites. Day to day management of the Church will also need money. Besides, tithings and Offerings are encouraged. just as God gives to us freely, we give back. He does not need that money. He needs our obedience. If you don't want to give, He is not going to wrench your arm cuz He is a loving God.
Just because some organisations mismanage theirs funds don't generalise the others please.

the LOVE of money, not WANT.

as for tithings and offerings, it's a sweet offering and giving back to the Lord, who gave us what we have now(1 Corinthians). its only right to give back(Book of Malachi)

about the usage of the word want:

i would want as many people as possible to be saved, but i cannot force. want and force are different.
