He needs to be mentally stimulated first because his mind moves faster you need to keep him guessing on your next move. Don't give all the clues on what you'll going to do. Consider the 'choke' as the pause he needs while his mind goes to work. So when he pauses that means his analyzing so before he's finished, shfit gear until he can no longer understand what you're leading him into then you succeed in stimulating his because you become a puzzle for him to solve. Now, he becomes more aggressive every time you are near. Needs a little patience though.

lol! k ive been there and i rekon the main reason guys who r smart do tht is prob cos they dont spend a lot of time with girls and prefer 2 spend more time studyin and the time they do spend is probably with othr guys studyin or hangin out or wateva so they dont get much time 2 get use2 girls and sometimes guys r just full on shy so uve just gotta b realli approachable and if he realli does feel the same way he'll come around. he may not lyk u as mor than a friend so mayb u shuld b open 2 him and tell him tht u lyk him if he doesnt feel the same way then keep ur friednship goin but move on and find some1 else. (omg i sound so much lyk a councellor!!!)

Guys with high IQ's are typically shy because they tend to over analyze everything (including relationships)!

Don't overtly flirt with him, innuendo works fine. There is nothing wrong with mixing academia and fun together. Soon enough, he'll be sending them right back at you.

He probably doesn't have confidence in his "social communication skills", which is why he's so darn smart. He's spent so much time by himself that it's difficult for him to even know that you're flirting and that it's okay for him to respond without being rejected or offending you. So you'll have to use your more advance skills to let him know that it's definitely okay to relax around you. Just keep doing whatever you can to get him to loosen up and I promise you that Mr. Brain will soon get the hint.

Take charge! Tell him that you think Pythagoras is hot. Ask him if that is a protractor in his pocket or is he just happy to see you? Quote some Goethe to him, hell, say his name properly, wear a flimsy T-shirt with the periodic table of elements on it, 'accidentally' stumble upon some naked pictures in 'National Geographic'. Good luck.

not all guys with high IQs are shy, my guyfriend has a high IQ and he's one of the most confident, funny guys i know --- however, some guys might be shy about having a high IQ becuase they are nervous that the girl will find him dorky, or he might be nervous about making the girl feel unsmart - just my best guess, hope you find your answer :)

Maybe he's just a shy guy. I've known a ton of them, from smart to stupid, they just get nervous because they are not used to girls liking them. My boyfriend was like that a bit, because he wasn't used to it. He also wasn't open at all, maybe your guy isn't open about himself either.

Also I know a ton of guys with very high IQs and only a minority of them are shy.

Because he's a nerd. Think about it. How many woman do you think were liking him in high school. He probably was teased by girls and when you flirt his first reaction is that your making fun of him. He knows your not but he's not use to it.

Perhaps he's concentrated to much on learning and not used his free time to get out and about and learn the social skills of dating . If you like him , take him by the hand and lead him and eventually he'll learn . Good luck to you !
