I'm really worried about my friend. She been taking heaps of panodol at one time. How many can she take before she overdoses?

I knew a girl once who took 100 panadol plus a month supply of contraception pill... when I rng the hospital they said it would work through her system... shed get stomach cramps but she wouldnt die... anyway I called an ambulance and they took her to hospital and pumped her stomach....
basically long term use of panadol has a terrible effect on the liver.... and what exactly do you call heaps..??
I dont think it is so much how many she takes in a day but more how many days in a row she does it for...
but then I am not a doctor nor a nurse or any kind of health professional...

panadol is deadly if too much is taken. read the back of the packet which should tell you the recommended dosage. i think it is recommended that no more than 4mg should be taken in 24hrs. The WORST side effect from panadol, is that it can take HOURS before the effects of an overdose from panadol is seen. people take it in an overdose, and when nothing happens take more and more! Panadol is especially deadly on the liver! If you suspect your friend has taken panadol to 'overdose', she needs to be taken to the emergency department straight away, and tell them how much you think she has taken, when she took them, so that they can give her a reversal medication such as NAC. If she has been drinking alcohol it can take less than the recommened dosage of panadol to overdose. If you think she is suicidal...please help your friend and take her to ED if necessary. If you cannot get to ED, go to your nearest doctor and explain the sitution at the front desk ASAP!

Your question is too vague and no one on here could even answer it if they were a doctor who specialized in liver failure. It depends on how much you take and testing would need done to determine the amount of liver damage that it caused. Every overdose would be different and there is no set amount for everyone. Impossible for anyone to answer this. Sounds like you are thinking about doing it again. Maybe you will find out for yourself how much it takes to kill your own liver. I promise you that it won't be much fun and plan on being very sick before it actually kills you. I know. I had liver failure and a transplant. It upsets me when I battled liver failure for years from an autoimmune disease and witnessed so many others at my transplant center trying to save their own life. You don't have a clue as to what that is like. And then we have people like you just killing theirs on purpose. I know people have mental illnesses and emotional problems, but it's such a waste of a life when others fight so hard everyday to save their own lives. They don't have the luxury of choosing to kill their liver or not. It's already almost dead and everyday they hope to get a transplant that will make them well again. Some people just don't have a clue as to how blessed they are when they have a healthy body. If you severely damage your liver by overdosing, you will find out what it is like to be really sick. If you think death will fix things, you are so wrong. I'm no religious nut, but the one thing I know is that we do go on and death isn't going to help you either. It will make things worse for you. If you are intent on killing yourself, there is nothing anyone can do if you refuse to listen. Just remember that if you do manage to off yourself someday, remember me when you get to the other side and find yourself in a negative place around a lot of other negative energies just like your saddened soul. Remember that crazy woman on YA that you thought knew nothing and was stupid. I was the one who warned you and you were too young and dumb to listen or care. So sad for you to be so young and troubled.

It takes more then 8 a day to overdose and you shouldnt be taking more then 2 at once

Taking it in large doses is fatel, you dont feel sick for a few hours then it kicks in... it a bad idea. people die from it bcoz they dont feel sick till later on.
Please seek help for your friend, or notify someone who can help them

i believe you cant actually overdose on panadol. it doenst contain codeine. it will make you very sick but.
