Well... in general, the answer is sadly "yes". It's because they tend to accept authority without question, and rarely think for themselves; i.e. they don't think critically.
Just look at the long list of christian evangelical charlatans, as an example. Their flocks are extremely fervent and absolutely certain that whatever their leader says is the gospel truth. This is extremely dangerous because these leaders can and do use this power for unethical purposes. Some really think that their leader is personally in touch with a god.
Jim Bakker, Jimmy Swaggart, Pat Robertson, W.V. Grant, Peter Popoff, Ted Haggard...

It depends. persusion is determined by exposure to information. people who do not get exposure to information might be harder to convince. So a guy with just high school might be more independent in thinking than a person who attended 2 or 3 universities.
Now with religion its the same thing. if the person has a lot of education they may be very hard to persuade of some beleif. However many highly educated people in the 1970's got sucked into cults (Rajneesh for example)
So I think some other factor is there. All the people in a generation for example might be gullible because they are insecure and want somebody to tell them what to do, or they are curious. persuasion is the essence of the human condition because it reveals the very nature of communication itself. I know some very religious people that are very resistant to new ideas or points of view, as we say hardwired. Its a function of how much real freedom a society has. Unafraid people will accept many beleifs. People who wont move in any direction without asking others first they are more gullible, In my opinion make most decisions about beleif based on social consensus. Minorities have to struggle and they are much less likely to change their beleifs than a person who is mainstream and not challenged. They tougher it is for you to embrace a beleif system due to persecution the less likely you are to change your religion at some later date.

Impressive, Xiao.
There's religious, then there's religiots. Some people have a detailed understanding of the principles and thought history of their religion, others cling to every breath from the earthly leader that they trust. Some people have intellectual integrity and courage, which has led them to what they believe is true faith, and others assume they have the true faith and line up any facts they accidentally absorb to support it.
The latter are definitely gullible, as long as you play to their faith. The former are intelligent, with a keen understanding of human nature, and they would point out any attempt to deceive them. Most people lie between the two extremes.

Depends on the level of education and intelligence, just like for non-religious folks.
PS. Ha. ha. I see some here are very talented. So talented in fact I am not even going to report that. Artistic expression is protected by the first amendment I think.

I disagree. I moved from New Hampshire to the bible belt (first North, then South Carolina). There are much extra crimes in this portion of the rustic, much extra racism, and countless people who're very 2-confronted. the individuals listed under are patently very non secular in what they are asserting, yet in what they do i could say that usually they don't look to be as stable human beings as interior the North East the place faith is nowhere close to as vast a deal. i don't understand approximately being merciless or intercourse exterior of marriage, yet human beings actual drink and smoke lots right here. there is somewhat low tax on liquor and tobacco, so there are countless those that use them. in short, i don't understand that being non secular makes somebody extra helpful as i've got not extremely seen info of it.

No. The opposit is true. they see through the wolves in sheep's clothing.
"wolves" was found 4 times in 4 verses in the New Testament.
Matthew 7:15 - Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
Matthew 10:16 - Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.
Luke 10:3 - Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves.
Acts 20:29 - For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.
