I am a 4th Dan in TKD, and have begun learning Aikido about 8 months ago. I am trying to incorporate some ideas of Aikido into my TKD sparring, specifically Tenkan and Irimi. I am looking for some good follow-up techniques that can be used. (IE: after opponent delivers a sidekick, tenkan. When they step around to strike, counter with a reverse punch)

by the book Aikido does not encorporate punches. However you can be as creative as you like. I think that against kicks Irimi nage delivers good results. Or setting a yonkyo on the shin is pretty effective as well. any balance technique works wonders too as an opponent is pretty weak on just one leg.
Best thing is to check with your teacher. If he's any good he'll probably be able to find or instruct you on some good techniques if he knows your intended attack

Hood12 is right - Hapkido contains all of this stuff that you are asking for. Someone already combined aikido and TKD and that's how hapkido was created.

As an aikido practitioner i may use strikes. But nothing is ever prepared in advance. I keep myself in a safe situation in harmony with the opponent, and eventually they walk into a position where the strike or throw comes easily.

it always strikes me as odd that people train aikido, when Hapkido is still part of your korean learning, as well as brings more to the table.

Remember that Aikido tends to be more linear, now as for using counters it would depend... do you practice TKD ITF or WTF, i'm guessing you cant do grapples in either one.
