Depends an what you are looking for, Kamloops is a hub city, meaning everything has to go through Kamloops to get to the coast, and from the coast to the interior of BC and the rest of Canada. This means better job prospects. Campbell River is a nice spot, right on the ocean not likely as many job opportunities though a darn nice place to live. I grew up just south of there in Courtenay BC. I can't speak for the rest of Canada, but The best answer really depends on what you are interested in and what you are looking for.

I like BC way better than Ontario. Kamloops is more central, so you can visit other places around BC easily. It is big enough to have what you need, but not too big to be an intimidating city. Campbell River and Nanaimo are more isolated, but closer to the ocean. It depends on what you like!

I would say Kamloops because of it's natural beauty and fresh, crisp air. However, I'd also say Windsor or Kingston because they're both near large cities. What are you interested in when considering a city to live in?

Personally I like the province of Ontario better than BC. The Kingston area is very pretty.
