Nah. Monkeys are very resiliant. I once grabbed one by the tail, twirled him around lasso-style, and flung him into the side of a city bus. He bounced right back up, climbed a tree, and started chucking coconuts at me, laughing all the while.
So I'd imagine you didn't hurt your monkey. As for the seatbelt, they can be kinda fiesty if you try strapping them in. I suggest stuffing them in the trunk.
