I dated a man that was a racist also. He never said anything out loud to anyone but the snide remarks in private finally did get on my nerves.Although we can't change what we like and dislike if we grew up with it.I kept telling him I didn't like to hear his comments every time he started to say something negative.I even told him I was losing respect for him because of it. He did stop commenting in front of me but he never did change his dislike for them. You can take a man out of the country but you can't take the country out of a man.Good Luck

The answer to this question is relevant if you have close friends or family of a different race and if you plan on having kids with this person.
Also note that if you're out drinking with him, he might just slip up and end up really embarrassing you with a racist statement.

He can't change the way he feels. As long as he doesn't say anything in public or do anything then it shouldn't matter. If he doesn't treat minorities like they are not as good as him then I don't think he's really that racist.

Yes I would.....I knew a dumb bastard like that. He never really said anything around anybody but he made jokes and what have you. One day in the car..a car filled with about 3 or 4 black dudes cuts him off.. He starts with the racial expletives out the window. Next thing you know we are in a high speed chase. Anyway the point is that someday it could spiral out of control and put you in danger. Like they say...if you aren't doing anything to fix the problem then you are part of the problem.

Leave him. How do you tell your friends, family, and relatives that you date someone who is racist? This isn't a matter of feeling between the two of you, but extends to your reputation and how others perceive you. You aren't a racist? Good for you. You date someone who acknowledges he is 'closet racist' and you CONTINUE dating him?
Great moral values you've got. Everyone is entitled to his or her own opinion, it is what makes you you and me me, but racism/racists do not help anyone.

No, because everyone is entitled to their own opinions and thoughts. As long as he doesn't act on them, then I think you're good. You said he was a great guy to you, sounds like a keeper. But opinions are opinions.

Ask him why he's that way.If he says cause i hate'em.Ask why.Keep asking but why. There must be more then the simple answer ,because I do.See if it all makes sence what he's really angry about. If it doesn't make sence, then it might not make sence if he gets angry with you about something someday. And let him know that's why you're asking too.

Dump him. Do you want racist kids? As him as their father, you might get them.

Well, blacks have hated whites for centuries. It's not uncommon to have a black boyfriend who hates whites. You might be dating a very average black guy, who simply hates whites for being white!
So the real question you have to ask is, "Are them spinner rims on his Escalade bad enough to tote a hot welfare mama like me to the liquor store?"
