Find something that you are passionate about and run with it. Do you like crafts? Make things for the local Children's hospital. Volunteer your services at a hospital or shelter. Talk to your minister about any needy families that need a little help. Get friends and family together and "Adopt" a family...collect can goods, take small items for the kids, etc. Helping others really helps lift my spirits.

i believe that nagging feeling of, "i'm not doing what i was put on earth to do!" is your true essence trying to come out of you... your spirit/soul is at conflict with the path you have chosen for whatever reason, and is trying (in my oppinion) to sigal you to this "road block" so you can step into your self and wake up ...i'm no bible banger, im just another human who feels the same way you described... i dont really agree or whole-heartedly disagree with devout christians, i just choose not to adhere to any organized religion, i take little bits from every "holy book" and piece together my own belief system (i think we all do that to a degree so i wont bore you with all that, but...)i am reading this really neat book called, Your Sacred Self, Making the Decision to be Free by Dr. Wayne Dyer
i would recomend it to anyone feeling as you and i both describe.
i was lucky enough to stumble over it in a thrift store a billion miles from home on an army base in Korea, for a whopping 25 cents!! it's a treasure to me!
every time that empty sort of feeling creeps up on you, try embracing it and asking what ever "source" you look to for guidance... just humbly ask for help from the universe to find your way, your path... good luck to you!
well i should add that doing this right before bed can be especially helpful because it allows you to digest the real meaning of your quest/question... just keep focussing on your purpose, and it will come to you when you are ready to recieve it..

Answer to your question is easy... you need god

man was created by god as a vessel to contain him.. many things can fill this vessel but it will never satisfy you... like you said see even money can't satisfy you... gettin tons of Ph.d do you think that will satisfy you? no. you were created just to contain god.

so you must be wondering what i am talkin about well here is it... i hope you will read the whole thing

There is a wonderful book which contains everything we need to know to live our lives the way our God intended. There are countless truths to live by found in this book, God's message to mankind, but if we were to boil everything down to its most basic message, this book, the Bible, makes three things clear...

First, the Bible says that mankind has a problem, and that problem is called sin. Sin is any action or attitude that falls short of God's perfect standard. Every one of us has the problem of sin. And the Bible teaches us that there is a consequence to sin - sin separates us from God. That is when we are fallen. Everyone have sin, sinned and is fallen. A fallen man is like a damaged and untunable radio which cannot receive and play music, but rather meaningless noise. Also like a cup that has fallen into the gutter, outwardly pretty but full of mud. In fact, the Bible tells us that end RESULT OF SIN IS DEATH and that there is nothing that we ourselves can do to solve the problem of sin. So who came in? CHRIST JESUS! The Bible tells us that God loved us so much that he sent Jesus, His only Son, to die in our place (John 3:16). Jesus paid the penalty of your sin so that you would not have to be forever separated from God. Is not that great? Someone would die for your sins, PAID THE PRICE FOR YOU!!!

Now all you have to do is to receive this salvation!! To say yes, to accept God's free gift of salvation by putting your trust in Jesus Christ. To say no, to reject God's offer of salvation, you are bound to suffer eternal perdition. (well i am not cursing you or anything but this is what the bible says)

So now you might be wondering how are you going to except this gift of salvation. You probably realize you're about to make the most important decision of your life. The Bible says, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." So if you have asked Him into your life, and believe He died to save you, you are a Christian.

So if you ask Him, you will be accepted. How to ask? Simple...pray. The way believers talk to the Lord is through prayer. Your prayer should be your own, from your own heart to His. You do not have to be complex or whatsoever, simple prayer is enough. (be sincere, really just open yourself to the lord)

O lord Jesus

I know that I am a sinner
and need forgiveness.
I believe that Your Son Jesus
died in my place,
to pay the price of my sin,
and rose again for my salvation.
I want to turn from my sinful ways,
so I now ask you,
Lord Jesus, to come
into my life as my Savior
and my Lord.

Wasn't that easy? Now you have believed and what you should do now is immediately seek other sincere, Bible-believing Christians to tell you more. But YOU HAVE BELIEVE (i really hope you did) and that is the first and very important step.

If you have anything to say just send me a message

I feel fulfilled when I am involved in volunteer work. Visiting shut-ins, helping a friend with homework, teaching someone a skill they want to learn...etc. That warm, fuzzy feeling is pretty legit. I feel a sense of accomplishment when I help someone.

It works for me, so maybe it could work for you.
