Festivals will be starting up in the spring. Find the local magic shop (metaphysical book store) and ask about Pagan Camp in your area.

Hi there :)

I;m assuming you mean neopaganism, so that's what I'll focus on.

First, check out the Traditions and Witches of the World sections at http://www.witchvox.com (scroll down to the bottom of the main page to find links to these). The first is a listing of descriptions of many modern pagan traditions, while the second is a state-by-state (and country-by-country outside of the US) directory of individual pagans, shops, groups and other resources.

Some other good links are:

http://www.twpt.com
http://www.pathwalkers.net/
http://www.universalpagan.com/
http://pagandiversity.com/
http://www.earthspirits.org/

I've linked to a bunch more at http://www.thegreenwolf.com/links.html

As for books, you have a LOT of choices. I have three recommendations in particular. One is Graham Harvey's "Contemporary Paganism". It's an excellent overview of a number of neopagan religions. I also recommend Nicholas Graham's "The Four Powers" which will be out later this month. He introduces the reader to the various models and paradigms of magic; it's an excellent resource for narrowing down your choices amid the many, many topics of study and practice. Finally, pick up Nick Farrell's "Gathering the Magic: Creating 21st Century Esoteric Groups"--it's the best book I've fouind for understanding how pagan groups work, from covens to lodges to discussion groups. Whether you want to start a group or join one that's already existing, this is a must-have resource.

You can read some of my book reviews at my review blog located at http://lupabitch.wordpress.com - be sure to scroll down the left sidebar where I have links to other reviewers as well; and Amazon.com customer reviews are also excellent resources for choosing books.

Hope that helps, adn good luck :)

Next, join a few discussion groups online or in person. Check http://pagans.meetup.com to see if there are any in-person discussion groups near you. And go to http://groups.yahoo.com - search for the name of the nearest city, plus words like "pagan", to find groups of pagans near you. You can also join more generalized groups, not just local ones. http://www.tribe.net is good for both local and general groups, and I'm on a number of really good communities at http://www.livejournal.com

Reading is a start. I'd recommend that you read good books and avoid fluff.

Secondly, I'd check out http://www.witchvox.com and find pagans in your area to talk to.

You might wish to decide which variety of Pagan interests you and check that out. Pagan is a HUGE term that can cover anything from Mormons to Wiccans to Buddhists to Native American spirituality. You'll probably want to narrow it down a bit.

If you would like more sites or books, email me.

Pagan is a very broad term. How do you mean? Wicca? Greek Recon? Just belief in multiple gods [Blending with Polytheism, but keeping it simple], what?

You say that you have been reading a lot about it, but don't they give you the information you need?

Start with the books you have read. If they are no help, forget and ask God to forgive you and set your path straight through Jesus Christ the Lord.><>
