How overhead cable are laid ?

I wonder how overhead cables (like telephone, cable TV etc) running one skyrise buiding to another are laid.

they use a gun to thro' the cable..

They prefer not to have overhead cables running from skyrises. They use tunnels to run the cables. If you see one during construction, they use cranes. For entertainment, they use helicopters to drop the cables.
