good point beletij. Don't get angry, just trying to understand how someone can be agnostic.

Cinful, this is an interesting point:
"Technically, every person alive is an agnostic, since not one person can claim to have an intimitate knowledge of any god." But you get a different response to changing the words "knowledge of" with:
"Relationship With".

Tough to answer in that way. I may have to go with the person that said 100/100, if that makes any sense to you. In my mind, anything could be true and I since I don't feel I know any answers, ANY possibility could already be 100% true yet I am unaware of it. I don't really have a system to weigh one idea against another. That is how I view that sort of thing in general.

I have my own little personal "hopes and dreams" which I believe are meaningless in the long run. In that case, I'd say the probability of a Higher Power of some sort is 70/30 to me at this moment in time. But I accept the fact that it's based on my 'feelings' and not what I believe is actually logical to me. My feelings change constantly. But again, all I'm referring to is a Higher Power, nothing as exact as a Christian God/Creator.

It's a messy situation.

I think your definition of agnostic is a little off ... you're not clear on what it means.

Agnostic means simply without knowledge. Gnostic - knowledge .... A - Without = Without Knowledge.

Technically, every person alive is an agnostic, since not one person can claim to have an intimitate knowledge of any god.

Culturally, the term agnostic is used to explain the belief that there is a higher power, but they don't presume to know who or what it is. So it's not a matter of being in the middle or undecided ... simply that they do believe, but have chosen not to waste time trying to define it.

Agnostics don't think of probabilities in that way. They just don't wish to place their trust in something that can't be proved. Of course some come to the point where they do believe, and some become convinced that there is no god. Religion, like all things is a continuum.

Also, agnostics may not believe in any sort of "creator" God. That's somewhat a Christian idea of God, and there are others. So, if an atheist decides to believe in a God, there is no necessity that it be a Christian one. There are lots of Gods out there to believe if one wishes.

Um... hello?

Agnostics can be theists who, for example, 99.99% believe in a god or several gods. There can also be agnostic atheists who 99.99% believe there is no such thing as a god (basically where I am - which means I'm as close to a gnostic atheist as there is who will still believe in theism if there happened to be indisputable proof some day).

And your wording's strange. It should be:

1st # = theism
2nd # = atheism

100/100

For me this is a trick question. Even if God exists in my reasoning, it does not care about the piddly and immeasurably tiny species called humanity. So when I say, "God might exist," I mean something totally different than what I think you mean.

there is a 100% chance that there is a God we just don't know which God is the right God. People have been worshiping gods from the beginning of time so we don't really know who is right or wrong...
