Recently sold my 00 Wrangler - too low of gas mileage (about 17 MPG) and the rough ride. If I could have afforded to keep the Jeep and buy another vehicle though, I would have in a heart beat! They are so much fun!!
The only problem I ever had offroading was putting a rather large dent in the oil pan.

Jeep wrangler rubicons hold up very well on offroad conditons. Other than that the jeeps from before 97' have a lot of engine noise.

I have a 2000 TJ that I bought in 99. The only problem I have ever had was a broken sway bar connector at 35K miles. That's it. And I go off road.
