It is possible to have an entire litter of "teacup" chi's if both parents are extremely small, but I wouldn't suggest it.

I may be wrong but my research has told me that "teacup" sized chi's only have about a 5 year life span.

The term tea cup just describes the very small dogs. Chihuahuas are recognized by the American Kennel Association as a Toy breed, one size. A lot of people will stick the term tea cup on their add to sell the pups for more. You can expect the pups to get about the same size as their parents, make sure you see both the mom and dad when you buy one.

Hi. Tea cup chihuahuas are not a natural breed. Many years ago, a male and a female runt from unrelated litters were bred together, and over time, developed the teacup.
HOWEVER, these days YES, you can have a whole litter of teacup chihuahuas, providing both the sire and the ***** are "pure bred" t-cup.
***These creatures are EXTREMELY FRAGILE and DELICATE. If you decide to breed, I highly recommend NOT SELLING TO FAMILIES WITH SMALL CHILDREN. Solely for the safety of these animals, as no matter what the parent says in regards to the way their child/children handle animals, accidents do happen.

Have a nice night!

if you love the breed research it more. teacups are not a breed variation of the chihuahua. the chihuahua by akc breed standard is not to exceed 6 lbs anyway. chihuahua's are a toy breed and are meant to be small. but most breeders advertising teacups are backyard breeders who breed the hell out of a abnormally small mother to an abnormally small father. if you're wanted to get a dog to breed first you need to go to dog shows, talk with the breeders of the winners and go from there. they are usually more than happy to educate an intelligent person who is interested in their dog. sounds like you are intelligent enough to read up on the breed you want. but the best place to start is with www.akc.org this will give you standards and a list of reputable breeders. if you want to breed the dog, get one that comes from registered parents and show the dog and put titles on her. once you've proven you have a good quality dog you will have people knocking on your door to breed to your dog. this takes time and money but if you're not in it to make money and want to do things right this is the best way.

Teacup ? Now where did you read up on that? Not on a reputable breeders site. You are encouraging backyard breeders and puppy millers to produce sick dogs. Its funny you say you may want to breed them because you love the breed. Do you really love the breed? You haven't even been on the breed clubs site because you would know better than to breed tcups.

You better read this on tcups

Breeding should be left to people really dedicated to the breed. If you really love the breed I hope you will take the time to do A LOT of research. Research, research, research. I really do hope you love the chihuahua and take the time to become a reputable breeder.

I think you can have a whole litter of teacup chihuahuas if both the mother and the father are teacups.

A true runt is half-sized compared to a normal puppy of that breed. I suppose it would be possible to have a whole litter that small, depending on parentage.

Tea cups are a type of chihuahua.
True breeders/show (deep in the game) don't recognize teacup from dear (style) Chihuahua, but for the rest of the normal chihuahua loving people that is considered a type of chihuahua people breed their dogs smaller with smaller to get this achieved! I think they are SOOO Cute and my wife wants one really BAD! we have two chis already! But be careful cuz they are REALLY SMALL!!! you may sit on em or step on em they are hard to own just for that reason alone! good luck!!!!!!

THERE'S ***NO SUCH THING**** as "teacup" ANYTHING!!!
