I got two boys toilet trained by encouraging them to go to the toilet at least every hour - just in case. I put cheerios or fruit loops in the toilet, and the boys loved trying to "sink" them. The younger boy sure wanted to be a "big" boy like his brother and his daddy, so that helped. There are lots of great books out there on potty training - and he is the right age now.

I have also heard good things about the diapers that feel cold when they get wet - gives the kids a heads up on when it's time to hit the bathroom.

Good luck - and let him learn at his own pace.

Cheers,

Samlet

My oldest son took to it rather quickly, my now three year old was the tough one. I tried everything candy bribes, toilet targets, Spiderman underwear, sticker chart, you name it and I'll be honest, it was actually Daddy's doing that got him going. Daddy showed him how much fun it was to make "bubbles" in the potty. LOL He's been potty trained for 10 months now.

Its time, although Ive heard that boys take longer than girls. I've heard of putting a Cheerio in the toilet and having him try to hit it. When I potty trained my daughter I kept her naked and full of liquids, so maybe spring/summer time would be more ideal.

Good luck!!! It's all gravy once you teach them this, I promise!!!!

You take him every hour to sit on the potty and make a big happy fuss when he does go. It takes time.
