Get a damp towel & warm it up and put it the microwave for about a minute and a half, and then lay it around your neck and it should help it.....be sure to feel the towel with your forearm first to make sure it's not too hot....

If it is just a sore neck you will have to take pain killers or place a heating pad on it until the pain subsides. If the pain is from an injury you should have an x-ray done to make sure there is nothing that got shifted out of place. If it's because of scoliosis or something, you might want to call your doc & see if they can prescribe you some pain killers from a pharmacy. They are a lot stronger.

while a heating pad makes the pain dull, the solution is finding out the cause of the sore neck.
Is it tension? Could it be the pillow you are sleeping on? Undue pressure on the spine?
A deep tissue massage, preferably shiatsu, might help to send endorphins to the area and eliminate the pain. A chiropractor might be able to bend you back into shape as well.
But first, I would try to identify the cause, perhaps change pillows or change sleeping positions, and see if that helps.

Take a hot shower or bath and let the hot water soothe it. Then I use a thermocare pad. That Head-On stuff is good for neck aches. If you have lavender oil, mix a couple of drops with olive oil and rub it into your neck. Advil or Aleve can help.

When mine gets stiff and sore...which is often due to being rear-ended, I put one of those buckwheat neck wraps in the microwave and wrap it around the back of my neck and take a couple of ibuprofen. If you have a massaging shower head that is also a good way to relieve it. If it is something that happens alot check your medical insurance to see if they cover massage therapy.

You don't give very many details, could possibly be anything. one of the symptoms I have when I get strep throat, is my neck and head hurting. How long have you had it? Did you sleep the wrong way?Might just need to have a check up to be safe..
